Well the boxes are all packed and my little blue car was put on a truck today to be shipped all the way across the country. Even though we’ve spent the last week and a half saying good-bye to friends and packing up all of our possessions, it is still hard for me to believe that we are actually leaving the San Francisco Bay Area.
It is also hard for me to believe that we have close to zero food left in our refrigerator and all of our kitchen gear is now packed away. While we’ve mostly been eating out these last few days, I did make a big effort to use up a bunch of ingredients before all of the kitchen equipment was boxed. Some of the dishes I made were a bit too creative to post (think a bunch of odds and end tossed together with a stranger than normal sauce), but we definitely enjoyed a few blog-worthy dishes that I will try to post over the next few weeks. Among them were some sweet potato fries. Super delicious and simple to make—these fries were perfect for our hectic work and packing schedule.
We’ve got a lot of ground to cover as we make our way across the country over the next few weeks, but we’ll try to check in when we can.

|We were happy that these sweet potatoes were local and organic, but sad that they came in one of our last local CSA boxes. We are hoping to start a new CSA when we arrive at our new home, so our food can still get high green ratings.|
